Even if you somehow haven’t heard of the Death Bubba strain, we believe you have certainly heard of its parents, both of which are popular strains themselves.

Death Star and Bubba Kush are the main reason why Death Bubba burst onto the scene as one of the most potent Indica dominant hybrid strains out there, as both of them are considered powerful with an excellent THC percentage.

Death Bubba and its recognizable earthy blend of spicy lemon pine and pungent earth terpenes, fiery orange hairs, and dark olive green leaves.

HISTORY & LINEAGE

Death Bubba History

In order to understand the effects of this strain better, we have to go back in time to the roots of the industry and take a look at its origin.

As you know, growers can create new strains by crossing various phenotypes or lineages. They choose parent strains according to the smell, flavor, potency, and effects they want to achieve.

The Death Bubba marijuana strain is widely known in Canada as a potent Indica-dominant child of two fantastic breeds.

Death Bubba has been on the market for numerous years. However, its ancestry is quite more impressive, and it definitely shows why Death Bubba has the ability to hit you in the head and numb your body.

Lineage

If we take a look at the Death Bubba ancestors, we’ll find out that this marijuana strain is an indirect product of several widely-known variants.

By crossing Sensi Star and Sour Diesel, growers have made the popular Indica dominant hybrid, a strain widely used for obtaining other variants because of its THC percentage.

On the other side, we have a cross between OG Kush and Afghani, which results in another famous type of bud called Bubba Kush.

An interesting fact about Afghani is that this marijuana strain is a landrace, meaning the Death Bubba is closely related to an original cannabis strain cultivated in its natural environment.

Matching and crossing Death Star and Bubba Kush results in a new, Indica dominant hybrid strain with a name that suggests its lineage.

Of course, to get more information about the history, you can always explore Death Bubba’s ancestors on a site dedicated to seeds and strains profiles. You’ll notice that Death Bubba carries many parts of their characteristics.

Growing Info

Growing this Canada-born Death Bubba strain is found to be challenging by many growers.

Most expert growers recommend beginners reconsider their decision and try other strains to grow, at least until they gain the experience necessary for such a demanding strain.

We include a grow guide with information assembled from experienced growers, experts, and suppliers that may be helpful to you along your way to growing the Death Bubba strain on your own.

Indoor growing

Growing Death Bubba indoors is a more convenient choice as it can be a finicky plant to grow outdoors, and thus indoors is ultimately the best environment. The flowering period generally takes eight to nine weeks.

Of course, if you use a hydroponic system (growing plants without soil), you can cut short the flowering period for at least a week. Be aware that cutting the flowering period may reduce the THC content of this extremely potent strain.

Even though most growers agree that each square meter of the plant produces 10-12 ounces of flowers, the amount you’ll get per square meter depends on multiple cultivating factors, as well as the quality of the seeds.

To grow the best flower indoors, make sure to take care of the temperature and the air ventilation in the room. You should also pay attention to the humidity and the CO2 percentage in the place, as they are significant factors for obtaining better plants.

Outdoor growing

If you decide to grow the Death Bubba strain outdoors, you should choose the perfect spot where the cannabis can get a lot of sunshine, as that’s the most important factor to successful growth.

However, you should also remember that this is a finicky plant and growing outdoors comes with other responsibilities, which is why most growers choose the previous method.

Growers can get around 12 ounces of buds, and some experts even up to 15 ounces per plant. Growers get the flowers in October, the month for harvesting.

Growing tips

While all cannabis plants are quite adaptive to the environment, you should pay attention to multiple factors and set the conditions right so that you obtain rich and healthy flowers with high THC content.

When it comes to the Death Bubba strain, experts advise you should pay a lot of attention to the plants, regularly check the temperature, and make sure that the plants get enough air and light, even to the lower branches.

The plants also need regular pruning and appropriate watering to stay healthy. When it comes to the last part of the cycle, it’s best to leave the plants to go through the flowering uninterrupted.

APPEARANCE

Appearance

Death Bubba buds have dark olive green leaves with a thick layer of frosty-white trichomes. Given that Death Bubba is an Indica-dominant marijuana strain, it has dark forest green nugs in medium size, with dark purple tones and fiery orange hairs.

It’s a beautiful plant, resembling the wonders found under the sea.

FLAVOR

Flavor

Often, the name of the strain indicates its flavor besides its origin. That’s not the case with the Death Bubba, as this marijuana strain has a pleasant and highly pronounced flavor.

The taste is a mixture of pine and lemon. You can also sense another flavor mixture when exhaling, including earthy and sweet flavor notes.

AROMA

Aroma

Given the fact the terpenes found in the plants determine their smell, Death Bubba has a pungent smell. The aroma is a combination of grass filled with pleasant musky and earthy notes. In the aroma, you can also sense hints of pine and sweet notes.

MEDICAL PROPERTIES

Effects

Even though we consider them as potential effects, the Death Bubba is so potent, with such an insanely high THC level, that you’ll most likely end up knocked out and completely unable to stay awake.

Prepare for a long lasting slumber while feeling a stress-free, sedating body high. Or conversely, you could be left wide awake, with an uplifting feeling, and given quite the wild ride.

Death Bubba is not for beginners and people with low THC tolerance, as only a puff or two at night of its good smoke will fill the room with a thick layer of haze. It has the ability to produce couch-lock effects, leaving your body and head glued to the bed.

The “High”

You could be floating on a cloud, sensing a burst of energy within minutes after the fist hits. Once the restful slumber enters in, the mind turns spacey and you’ll feel the stress leaving your body.

Most marijuana users initially feel a wonderful rush that leaves them with mood stimulating effects. The rush then is replaced by a calming effect because of the Death Bubba’s strong sedative properties, which ends in an almost death like sleep.

Soon after smoking, this powerful combination of two potent Indicas gives a tingling sensation that slowly numbs the limbs, and the numbing feeling intensifies.

The gradual numbing sensation enters an entirely new level when the Death Bubba takes the user into the dreamland.

Many users felt like being in a walking coma during those times when they didn’t fall asleep. However, for most, the Death Bubba is the best strain for sleep and relaxation, suitable for people who want to avoid social situations.

Medical properties

Besides having fun, many experienced users have initially tried marijuana for its medical properties. Of course, the effects and benefits vary depending on the strain, as each marijuana strain has its own specific profile.

Regarding the Death Bubba strain, the strain is one of the favorites of people who suffer from chronic pain, insomnia, or inflammation.

Given that it gives a stone high, many people reported improved sleep quality. Further, it’s highly recommended and helpful for reducing anxiety, discomfort, and pain.

Potential side effects

With such a high THC content, Death Bubba is not a light strain for novices or those with THC intolerance. Even occasional users may not handle the effects of this Indica-dominant hybrid, and they should take it with vigilance.

The potential side effects of smoking this marijuana strain include dry eyes, sore throat, dry mouth, itchy eyes, dehydration, and increased appetite.

Since it’s high on THC, it’s better to be smoked at night before going to bed because you’ll most likely not be able to handle social situations.

A very solid death bubba. Probably the best I’ve had in a while!

Nugs are sticky and dense.

I got 3.5 grams with my order just to see how it was and I’m impressed, I’ll probably get more with my next order.

I’d recommend you get this if you’re a fan of the Death Bubba strain.

This shit slaps. I have a high tolerance and a lot of flower I’ve ordered around the 130-150 doesn’t do anything for me smoking a .8g J. The same amount with this, I’m floating nicely for an hourish.
